They have many things that are good for your emergency planning, like food and other supplies. They also offer Free Shipping for orders over $100.

I just got three boxes from them today with some of the Mountain House freeze-dried food– some cans and some pouches.

I also got some of the A Pack military MREs for my 72 hour kit, and some of the emergency 116 hour candles and glow sticks.

Wow, a whole year’s food supply in one go. I was going to say hope they’re tasty, but when the sh** hits the fan we’ll all be eating whatever we can lay our hands on.

I like the just add water. Sure makes things simplier. I think we get so used of all the things we have that we don’t realize what we would be without until we are in a situation. Nice variety in the selection.

Are you going to be handing out MREs for Halloween? Be honest….

haha.

I hear Rob was giving out stroganoff dinners in freeze-dried form for Halloween . . . and as the ever clever sales guys, he told the kids it was astronaut food.

Unfortunately, the kids didn’t know what astronauts are (were).

What would happen if a ton of freeze dried food was dumped into a little river? Would the river overflow with stroganoff?

Hi Buggin Guy,

Sounds like The Ready Store can really keep us well supplied for emergency preparedness. I’ve been encountering “Preppers” online recently. Is this part of what is related to Buggin and out?

It seems like a great site. And emergency or not, glow sticks are great.

It always amuses me that glow sticks have a genuine usage rather than just waving them around in the dark to trance music! :-)

I know this sounds silly, but my first thought was “how many people does a #10 can feed?” It seems like if you are in survival mode, once you add water and make it a meal, there wouldn’t be anywhere or anyway to preserve leftovers. But I am impressed with the number of products and all they have to offer. Great link.

Pushing the MREs, nice touch. I like the idea of handing them out for halloween or perhaps as Christmas gifts….

Rob, you’ve given me a brilliant idea!

I always wonder which type of long shelf life food gives the best possible REAL nutritional values ( NOT just IU, calories …. numbers). Fresh food is often the best but then we’re talking about emergency here.
