Duct Tape and WD-40…

by Rob on September 28, 2009

wd40Calling McGyver… (I loved that show)

If you are ever trying to improvise something or make it work right, there are two solutions:

“All of life’s problems can be solved with two things—duct tape and WD40.

If it moves and it shouldn’t, you need duct tape.

And if it doesn’t move and it should, you need WD40.”

—Unknown

“Bubble gum and baling wire” used to have to do the tasks that we now use Duct Tape for.  Incredible progress…

Do you have 5-6 rolls of duct tape and a couple of cans of WD-40?  Add them to your Home Depot shopping list and get with the times…

Get in the tape different colors, widths and grades. Turn your Camel Back water bottle into a tape dispenser, wrap in tape. Thank Cody for the idea.

Duct tape and WD-40, I just might actually have those around. But, 5-6 rolls, well, that’s pushing it! How about electrical tape, mailing tape, masking tape, do any of those count for anything?!!!

My nickname use to be Mac, short for McGyver. Wonder what Richard D. Anderson is up to now.

Love the quote LOL

I do indeed! I also have a crowbar . . . but that’s mostly for looks. :)

Duct tape, WD-40 and tampons Rob, McGyver always seemed to have tampons . . . I’d add in some red lipstick. If I can’t get the mechanically tightened lug nuts off my tire, some red lipstick and a flash of leg will. ;)

Hi Rob,

LOVE that quote. That’s so perfect. My second cousin, the Wall Street Bonds man, sent me a wonderful joke email about Duct Tape. Words you will never hear a Southern Man utter (both he and my late husband were from the South), “Honey, duct tape won’t fix that….”

I have a 3pack of WD40 from Costco. Keep it in my car trunk. LOVE it.

I got this one covered – my hubby has numerous cans of WD40 and lots of duct tape. We live in the country so it is a must.

Hmm. We have a little bit of both…I think. Would these items be useful in a catastrophic situation?
